Amber warning for hot weather from Wednesday 10th August at the HRC's

We are monitoring the weather forecasts for this week and we may need to close our HRCs early afternoon if temperatures are too high for the site staff to safely operate in, so we advise you make your booking as early in the day as possible.  We will update any changes here and on Gloucestershire County Council social media as soon as possible.

Textiles are sent to various locations in the UK & Europe for recycling & reuse. See the locations below:

  • Bitterfeld-Wolfen
  • Green World Recycling, West Midlands
  • CTR Enviro Ltd, Uttoxeter
  • Salvation Army Trading Company Limited, Kettering

What happens to it?

Re-Use 62%
Re-cycle 32%
Energy, Paper and Concrete Production 6%

Green World Recycling

55% reusable

35% recycling

7% for industrial wipes / rags

3% shredded textiles and waste.

CTR Enviro Ltd

Textiles are sorted 85% in the UK, 15% in Europe.

Once sorted:

  • Reusable is sent to the global 2nd hand market
  • Unusable is sent for energy recovery

Salvation Army Trading Company Limited, Kettering

Kettering for resale and surplus goes overseas.
