Where it is taken?

Metals collected at the kerbside are split into aluminium and steel before being sent to various locations in the UK for recycling. 

See below where the metals are currently sent:

Aluminium

• Novelis, Warington
• Thamesdown Recycling, Swindon

Steel

• AMG - Nevils Dock, Llanelli

What happens to it?

All of the metals are recycled into new products.
