  • Remember to take your shopping list with you whether just notes on your phone, a photo of a dry-wipe list on fridge, a handwritten list or a beautifully organised meal planner. It'll keep you focused on buying only what you need. 
  • Set your budget before you go and try to stick to it. It'll help to keep your eye on the pennies and avoid buying things you don't need that may end up being wasted.
  • Sense-check special offers - when will you actually eat the extra food? Is it in your plan? If you don't need it then it's not saving you money.
  • Tick off your list as you buy your food will keep you focused on your list and help you see what's left to buy, avoiding unplanned purchases.
